I ended up ordering two sets of the Accuride glides. I'll put a set on the top and on the bottom. I think I'm going with a Snap rack because I'm limited on width and I want to keep the weight down. Because of this, I won't be putting a door on the front which I think I might be making a mistake. I'll post my results.

Let the science experiment begin! I'm going to put a pair of these on the top and bottom of the rack which will share some of the load weight. These are rated at 500lbs and have a L bracket where the rack can sit on and be secured to. The benefit of having the top slide is to share the load but will also stabilize the operation. They fully extend 24" for a 24" rack. Should work like a charm!

Yeah. I had it laying around for scale purposes. These are fairly heavy duty!!!

I want to see the test where you mount the empty rack in the cabinet with those, and then YOU proceed to sit inside the rack while someone slides you out of the cabinet. This is really the only way to test something like this, no?

Are you calling him fat?

He'll have to get few other guys and have a hug session in that rack to simulate 500+Lbs

I predict that the cabinet won't be strong enough.

For quick service, use the AXS with the tracks. Takes 2 minutes.

Put a small floor rack on display if you want to show off cable management - this is going in a showroom?

I do enjoy physics experiments though, so I'm eager to see the pics.

We are having our state fair right now so I can just power eat for the next week!
Wife: Why are you eating everything in site?
Me: Because I need to gain weight to test our rack at work!
Wife: Why don't you just use free weights?
Me: Cause this is way cooler?!?!? And someone online said I should!

I see the head shaking now!

I wanted to use the AXS rack but I don't like the idea of having to pull out the extention tracks every time I want to show the rack. Behind the rack will be one or two media panels that will house all of the coax, power supplies, etc. So this will be a perfect way to quickly show this to a customer without having to grab the pull-out rails. Plus this is going in our showroom and that is where you always try the stupid s#$t!

Here goes nothing. I haven't loaded the rack of course but I was able to stand inside the rack and it moved me with ease. Of course that's one amplifier and a UPS but I'm fairly confident this will work. We ended up using only three slides (2 on the bottom and one across the top). I didn't want to frame in the 4th slide because of the wiring behind it. I thought it would look like crap. The top slide provides some good stability along with carries a little of the tipping load. I'll keep posting as we finish up.
