Note - A dupe post from the H-T-M forum.
Does anyone know if the Mx3000/MRF250 supports RS232?
I see that H-T-M sells an RS232 cable directly on their web site but so far my inquiry on its applicability has gone unanswered.
Looking to control some Escient gear and was thinking of the Xanetch IRS232A module....but not sure how the Mx3000 and Xantech gear play together.
Any thoughts?

The MX3000 does not support RS232. The cable you are refering to is most likely a programming cable (DB9 to 1/8" stereo plug).

The MX300 should work fine with Xantech codes. I have used the IR->232 converter with good results. I can't say the same about Escient products...

The RS232A works great with the Escient products. ASnd the Codes will be no problem for the MX.
I havent had any significant problems with the Fireball Line on over a year.... Dunno what Matt's talking about.
