Isn't it great when you think you've found a great piece of electronic gear with a good price point, when in fact it is a POS in terms of discretes.

After switching from several Seleco projectors to several NEC 1100's in recent jobs, I found out what you are having problems with--power ON or OFF is accomplished by a 3-5 second press and hold of the power button. After phoning my rep and having him look into it, which he was not aware, I have come to the conclusion that I may have to go back to my other more discrete friendly projectors.

Initially, since I use the RTI T2, was to create a macro for an "all on" button that had the NEC power command first ( with the repeats for that code set to be the duration needed to simulate a 3 second press and hold) followed by the other gear in the system. However the repeats did not work in the code due to the gaps between each repeat. So finally I had to add to the properties of that single power command "repeat while button pressed" in the line of that code in the macro and leave the repeats at 2. I also changed the text on the button to read " Hold for All On" and for the other one "Hold for All Off".

This has solved the problem and my customers just hold this down until they see the screen start to drop ( I use the 12v jack from the NEC 1100 to trigger my screen) I think you have to enable the 12v trigger in the setup menu. However, because I don't have the discrete on or offs, making macros such as "listen to cd" becomes overly complicated. I haven't found out if rs232 has on or offs. Also the NEC is locked out from power commands after you turn it off for about a minute or two.

Hopefully this helps in your remote or else you'll have a separate power button on all your device pages for the NEC 1100, which is cumbersome. My 6 cents
