Just wanted to update everyone on this thread since it's been another year, almost. We released integration with Quickbooks online for CEDIA last year. We're currently working on a connector for Quickbooks desktop versions. We also added integration to D-tools for the catalog (includes pricing!) and quite a few proposal features, like Payment Schedule and Project Terms, Digital Signature (from client), History section where you can revert back to previous versions with the click of a button, and many more.

If you want a special promo code for a few extra months trial subscription, just email me (josh [at] mysupplystream [dot] com).

Thanks!

So if multiple Distys have the same product does this allow us to price check the various items?

When a client opens a proposal on the web portal are they able to markup questions/concerns etc that we can then read/respond to?

Oprah, you can only see cost on items and distys you are approved for.

When you submit the proposal, the client can reply to it directly (questions etc) and it will come back to your inbox.

When you select a product, there is a default supplier. You can click on show all suppliers and it will show every supplier that has that product, along with pricing for any you are authorized for.

I asked about factoring in shipping and they aren't doing that yet. It would be cool if they could take a proposal and make supplier choices for the best price, factoring in shipping. It would be pretty difficult with all the different shipping policies.

Oprah - I can echo what TommyBoy said, and here's a bit more detail:

So if multiple Distys have the same product does this allow us to price check the various items?

You can see you pricing from all of your authorized suppliers on the product page, and you choose who to send the order to. Based on our data, there are several factors other than price that dealers choose to order from a specific vendor. We believe dealers choose vendors based on the following criteria, in order: 1) Stock availability, 2) Shipping (cost and timing), 3) Personal Preference (customer service, fast order processing, etc), and 4) Price.

When a client opens a proposal on the web portal are they able to markup questions/concerns etc that we can then read/respond to?

On the client version of the quote, when they scroll to the bottom they get the option to Accept or Request Changes. If they Request Changes, they can type what they'd like to do differently and that gets saved in your proposal history (in addition to the email notification you get).

@hdsystems, we have plans to incorporate all 4 of the factors I mentioned above (which I posted before I saw your response). We call what you're describing the "total cost of procurement". Then add in personal preference factor and stock availability and you'll have everything you need.

We'll get there. It's a challenge, yes, but not one that technology can't solve. :)
