When trying to learn ir code with Elan or Universal
Remote via com port using windows xp no luck. I have tried shuting down any task running and have deleted any programs that might be competing with the interface. Driving me crazy, any help please, please.

Please provide some meaningful information.

Like what "Elan" your learing into. I know of at least 3 ways to learn elan codes, 090 Programmer, Via Programmers, and direct into an HD2000 IR card.

ANd what "Universal" remote? URC? Which Model?

What version software are you using?

Are your firmware files all up to date?

Elan Via Tools 4.4, Via Learner ROM version 2, Learner Flash Version 14.
I had this problen with learning ir on the mx800, talk to URC said XP has a timing problem, have used the mx3000 with no problems at all.

Well I just learned all 5 codes for a vcr, it took about 20 times for each command.
