I am trying to control a Marantz DV8300 DVD player with an RC5200. I am using a Plasma-Friendly IR receiver. When using my RC5200, I have control of every function except PLAY, STOP, and PAUSE. With these three function, I have to hit the button about 3 times to get the function to work. If I stand directly in front of the DVD player, away from the IR receiver, and have full control of every function on the first press.
I understand that these plasma-friendly IR receivers filter out certain frequencies. Is it possible that the PLAY/STOP/PAUSE frequencies are that much different than the other functions? Does anyone have a solution that would allow full control of the DVD player (every other device, including a Marantz receiver, works 100%, codes have been recaptured numerous times)? Keeping the cabinet door open is not an option, nor is removing the current PF IR receiver(allows control of Sony HD300 and RCA Tivo).
I would appreciate any help.

First, What plasma Friendly Receiver are you using? They are not all created equal.

2nd have you tried re-learning those codes? Even though its working in front of the unit, the codes could still be a bit dirty and thats why its not working so good with the Plasma/repeater.

You can download the official Marantz ccf file for the 5200 from the Maranz website. It has the codes for the DV8300 in that file (as well as most of the other Marantz gear):

First of all, thanks for the information guys. I really appreciate it.
The Plasma-Friendly receiver is a Sonance Optilinq MR1.
I have tried re-learning the codes, numerous times, as I thought the capture might have been bad, but with no luck.
I will try using the default 8300 codes again to see if that works.
Again, thanks for the input.

Thanks for the help guys. The default Marantz 5200 that I dowloaded from the Marantz website worked like a charm. After looking at my original code, there were many extra lines of garbage. Once I was rid of all of the junk, everything was good.
Thanks again!
