We had to replace a clients Denon AVR that was also being used for Zone 2. We put in a Yamaha RX-A830. All commands work except for discrete Zone 2 Power On. Tried the URC database and the commands from every document on the PAB site, nothing works. Anyone run into this and have a working command in HEX?

OK nevermind...updated the MX editor and the database code now works. The one from the PAB site still does not. Thanks anyway!

Hi Chris:
I noted your post on the code situation for the URC for Zone 2 for the Yamaha RX-A830 AV Receiver. I just bought one and got a Harmony Ultimate as a gift I would like to program to use the Zone 2. The Harmony has a "party" code ( both the main and Zone 2 speakers together) but not a code to direct the output to just the Zone 2 speakers. Would you happen to have a code that you can share with me or let me know what I need to do to get it into the Harmony unit? Thanks for your assistance.
Regards,
Joel

Well, at least someone got the slap in the face taken care of right away.

Joel, we don't like Harmonys because of the way in which they're programmed, the way they work (sometimes described as don't work), their comparative unreliability and their lack of programming flexibility. Basically, they're a pain to us installers.

Now, maybe we can move on and give Joel some help, or at least some much more highly creative grief.
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

Here's a page with a link to a document containing all of the IR commands that the A830 responds to.  Here's the direct link: RX-A1030 - IR

These commands would have to be converted to Pronto Hex in order for Logitech to incorporate them into their set of IR commands for the A830.  However, I think you'll see that the receiver doesn't support individually turning on just Zone 2.

BTW, most Harmony enthusiasts hang out at the AVS site.
