Has anyone obtined the discrete IR code for the RCA Scenium PHD50500, 50" Plasma TV? I am looking for the video input code, and would appreciate any help offered. I called Thompson, and for $4 per minute was placed on hold and then the tech agent told me he had never heard of hex IR co have tried all the codes I can find listed) so I should probably call them for assistance. Again, any help is greatly appreciated.

Have you tried the standard RCA TV discrete on and off in the discrete files section?

[Link: remotecentral.com]

If it uses the standard RCA command set it uses the discrete on commands for RCA brand DVD's, DSS receivers, and VCR's for those discrete input selects. The theory is that you turn on the gear and set the input with one command if you have all RCA equipment. Philips does much of the same thing.

There are discrete commands posted for each of those and at the link above. You can give them a try. If those work I can probably come up with the others.

If those don't work, learn and post the pronto hex for the power toggle and I may be able to recognize the command set that belongs to some other Plasma manufacturer.

Found them! the Rca Scenium (at least the 50") is made by Pioneer. The trick is...put the unit in service mode. 1. put unit in standy mode. 2. (with factory remote) press Up, Down, On/off toggle. (unit powers up in service mode. 3. Find "RCU" and change to "Dual". 4. press then enter /clear.
Now you can use Pioneer discrete codes. I found the 42" elite worked fine.

Hope this helps someone, this represents 14 or 15 phone calls to find someone at RCA to know this info.
