I just installed a pioneer 5040 plasma with a motorola 5200 hd cable box with the signal going thru a panamax 5300. channels 3-8 are really snowy. all else is perfect. any ideas?? its not a signal strength problem either.

Are the channels still snowy when the Panamax is out of the equation?.
Are you talking about analog or digital stations? Cable or Off air? Snowy digital stations would be extremely strange.

channels are PERFECT with Panamax out of the equation. analog channels a very snowy - 3 thru 8.

I know this sounds like a stupid question, but did you run the cable through the cable or satellite protection spots? I have seen this issue, snowy channels, when the satellite pass through spot was used for the cable box.
