There's a ticker that shows how much money CEDIA has spent to date on the BOSE lawsuit (around 50K).

Um... No..........

ANyone who has a CEDIA cookie does not go(Or at least has the option not to go) to the general home page... I had to look to find the bose lawsuit ticker....

And 44k is an incredibly small amount so far considering the size of BOSE and CEDIA..... I would of expected it to me significantly higher.

damn impaqt...

tomatoe...friggin...tomOtoe....

my screens a little different, and I don't use cookies, so it WAS in the middle of MY page...goof!

AND...

When you consider that the average company pays $500.00 per year to belong to CEDIA....that is ALOT of money....especially when they're fighting a lawsuit based on a slogan that they penned three years PRIOR to the "LifeStyles" (ooooh, wathc em sue ME now) systems, that they are being sued about!

Best part....BOSE has a booth at the EXPO!!!

When I was a cop, their were pretty strict rules about the two parties in ANY disagreement being anywhere near each other!

I'm certainly not saying I come close to agreeing with the lawsuit.. Just thought the number was low.... Bose has a lot of attourneys... And a LOT of disposable income...

As far as the link... I simply had no idea what you were talking about initially as I never go to the general CEDIA home page as CEDIA automatically bypasses it for me..... once I was pointed in the right direction, it made sense.....

I thought they agreed to can this thing...

Oh well, on a related topic, has anyone seen the July 2004 CEPro magazine wherein there lies on page 12 a big article about Bose-ready homes being built. Bose sells the gear directly to the builder and the "lucky" integrator gets to install the gear while a Bose employee stays on site at the model home selling more Bose stuff for the "lucky" contractor to install. "Lucky" contractor gets all the upsells. This one doesn't really chafe my rectum... it barely gets a rise out of me as I would personally look the other way if I knew my wiring didn't support any other system. It's just typical Bose... start trying really hard to get integrators to buy in to selling your "custom" product (I put that in quotes because I feel they've got a LONG way to go before they can really use that term) and then pull the rug out from under them when you see any other opportunity to further your cause.

When you think about how crappy one Bose system sounds imagine a whole neighborhood of them!

One more little epithet and I'll go away. I just got done installing a 4 zone Bose system and used the system expander and theater amp for the surround location. Got the wiring specs and design right off of their website. Now we find out that the surround system has to use a PRONTO to turn that zone on and select sources! "duhhhhhhhhhhhh.... we didn't think that one through before releasing the product". I know that I'm a whore cashing in on someone elses marketing and I feel kind of dirty... like I should be flogged with wet noodles and rubber hoses. My penance is that I get to provide a free Pronto to my customers as I'm sure Bose isn't willing to buy one for me. Oh well, lessons learned... just wanted to pass that along in case any of you are at the design phase for one of these systems. My other piece of advise is this... If you get the electronics, do as we did and hook the whole bloody thing up and learn their completely convoluted wiring nightmare before going on site!
