Yeah, try the Harmony. You'll also get to sell a new Hi-tech Giant Magnifying System. I'can't even read the damn thing, and no I don't wear glasses.

LOL, make sure you include the rabbit ears. I'm still wating for someone to come up with a device that nukes commercials, or at least kills the audio.

The remote you refer to used to be called "The Big One". I have purchased them from Ness Electronics Distributors in Milwukee Wisconsin, I belive they also have distributorships in Minneapolis and Kansas City. The remote was also available at Radio Shack recently. There was also an RF version.

Wouldn't the Kameleon have "buttons" big and bright enough for weak eyes?

There used to be one: a simple two-conductor lamp-cord with a pair of alligator clips on one end and a plastic push-thru switch on the other.

Believe it or not, it killed the audio by shorting the speaker terminals, with the theory that the output transformer prevented any damage.

Try the RTI T-2
The little LCD screen is really high contrast (like the old 700T Lexicon) and you can make the buttons and titles pretty big if you only need a couple extra keys aside from hard keys.
