Two inquiries:
1) How do I use the System6 Source sense inputs to conditionally turn off a device from a Z-PAD? I have managed to get it working fine for power up using a conditional first step

2) How do I use the System6 Source Sense Input from a Via Panel?

Darwin, I would highly reccomend contacting Elan support. They are extremely knowledgeable about their products, and will be able to walk you through the issue step by step.

I plan to, but they are closed until the 5th, and what I am trying to do should be quite simple.

hey darwin,
I'm not sure what you are asking. If you have a conditional first step, and you power up, and the unit is on, the system 6 will skip the forst command.

Press power again and the system should power off.

ZPADs can only store one IR command to a key. Sequence keys can point up to 13 keys where IR commands are stored. Sequence keys do not store IR data but stores pointers to other programmed keys. Because of this, you must program IR to keys on the IR Screen prior to programming a sequence.

Conditional First Step
The Z630 has the ability to detect audio at its source inputs. If audio is detected, the source is on. If audio is not detected the source is off.

Whenever audio is present and the Conditional First Step is checked, the first step in the sequence will not be performed.

From the help:

Whenever audio is not present and the Conditional First Step is checked, the first step in the sequence will be performed.

The first step is meant to be a power command. When used this way, the source equipment can be turned ON if it is OFF.

NOTE: If the source is on but not playing, the ZPAD will execute the PWR command turning the source OFF.

Are you a dealer, if you are, I suggest the Elan U.

I have the power on working fine from the ZPADs. It's the power OFF of the devices I want to automate.

It is also how to use the source status inputs on the system6 with a via. I have done it with a SR1 before but not just with the system6.

None of the training courses cover this.
