Really? They make one without line out?
I suppose if you're into soldering you could disconnect the internal speakers, convert speaker level to line level (I think you're most likely to find such devices sold for car audio purposes), then install some jacks in the back of the set. But the cost and work would likely outweigh just buying a set with audio outputs...

There are companies that will make anything for a buck. And, unfortunatly, there are major brand companies that will market it, if they think that you will buy it. Preying on ignorance it a big dollar industry these days.

If you are using a A/V receiver, all your sources, (cable/sat, dvd, cd, vcr, etc), should be run directly to the receiver; not to the television monitor. You may want to directly connect the video signal to the monitor, but send the sound where it needs to go.

Penny, that is the way I hook up every system..almpost, because every once in a while, something about the customer's application or budget just makes that impossible. Usually it is the client wanting to use the TV tuner itself. The original post mentioned not wanting to use a VCR, and that is usually the problem.

Yeah, It was actually out of curiosity if anyone made a gadget for extracting the a/v signal.. and yes.. minus the VCR.... Any way, yes... SONY made this stupid thing, and it even has stereo speakers in it.... but there is NO audio out, only composite out.... the funny thing about it is, it has stereo a/v in.... WTF!!?? I will have to check up on the model number....
