I'm looking for an easy to program inwall keypad. I've used the russound ca series and the uno-ir2. I like the uno-ir2 since you can use it with existing audio equipment, but it is to time consuming to program.
I would like to try the b&k, since it is basically an mx-500,but we are not dealers. Any ideas out there? I would like something that is independent of a multisource system.

We are a sonance dealer. But I think the k2 is a little to expensive and their web site doesn't mention the new remotes or the k1.

go to the dealer section. k4 and k1 coming, also coming out with a water proof remote for spa/hot tub users. august delivery. also 16 channel amp too. If your looking for cheap - they are discontinuing their navigator line - check price sheets - might want to stock up for the cheapo type customer. they are really cheap

The B&K CK1.2 keypads are impressive. They do program much like an MX500/MX700 with full mcaro capability. IR codes are easy to learn from the front of the keypad with a laptop plugged in. I highly recommend them.

Im not too familiar with the products you guys are using. But for what it's worth, for simple installations we have been using the Niles Intellipad. For a small system with Amp, Tuner, CD, Other, it programs in less than 10 minutes - average 5 minutes. Curious to hear your comments.

Sounds like your a Salesman, Not an installer/programmer........

You cant even test every function on a keypad in 5 minutes let alone program all the keys and macros.

Intelipad is fine, but WAY overpriced compared to the CK1.2 and other button based Keypads out there.... (Speakercraft system is very cost effective once you get up to 3 keypads)

I have had good luck with B&K as well (CK1.2's), that is what my first choice would be. Niles are okay if the client is really on a tight budget, I am installing a few Intellipads tomorrow. For the B&K the look, the feel, and the flexibility of programing are really nice features.

From my experience so far, the Intellipad does not have many capabilities to store to many hidden functions. So far I have only installed one basic Intellipad system. I hope I missed something there, but the B&K has plenty of options many hidden functions, there simple control for the client to use.
I have not yet installed a Speakercraft system, there is one in the shop and when I have some free time I am gonna play around with it. For what is worth it seem to be a pretty decent set-up.

I have had great luck with the Elan keypds..Only drawback is the Via learner that you need to program is kinda spendy.

We have used Russound in the past but we are using Elan now. We also have had good luck with ther keypads and programming is quite flexable. I do agree with JW about the learner being pricey but I have more of an issue with bringing it to job sites to reprogram. The length of the cable from the learner to the keypads is way to short,it just reaches keypads mounted at 52".

I am just using the Russound PCK-IR keypad, and using a pronto to control the rest of the equipment through IR emmiters plugged into my pre-amp.
