Has anyone used WIDI successfully? My Dell XPS15Z doesn't seem to work with Samsung TV's via this method. I tried Samsung's Allshare with marginal results. Nearly every file type gave me an error message "not supported" on the TV including jpeg and mpeg files. I also tried WiFi Direct to a Sony TV. No luck here either. My only thought is to try WIDI through a Netgear NeoTV which looks like Windows answer to Airplay via Apple TV. I want to send documents and PowerPoint, not just music, pictures, and videos. Any help is appreciated.

What processor is in your computer? If it's an Intel that's less than 3 years old and the TV or some other device uses DLNA, you should be able to stream.

Make sure you have Media Sharing turned on in Media Player. If you don't do that, it won't work.

DLNA wont help docs and powerpoints, just media files like mpeg, jpeg, mp3, etc. I use a netgear ptv2000 and it works perfectly. if you havent used it in a long time, sometimes it needs to be reset, but it is a direct mirror of the pc, you can do anything and play anything.

I've tested AppleTV with the AirParrot program for PC. Its pretty good. Probably not reliable enough to give to a client, but for your own use and the price, it's acceptable.

just tried air parrot. seems to work ok. the one thing i will say about netgear ptv2000 is that it automatically increases the size of icons and font to large. pretty nice feature.

Thanks for the help guys. I will try the Netgear piece. I wish I could do this without any extra equipment, but it sounds like its not happening.

I installed the Netgear piece last week, client supplied. I believe he had an old Ztoshiba LED & a Denon AVR. Everything synced up & worked fine right away.

Which Netgear model did you use? They make two models ( ptv2000 & ptv3000). I'm trying to get one in tomorrow.

It was the PTV2000 (the larger one).

Mersive Solstice Pod for the win.

Presents over the network and doesn't require a dongle to plug in. It's cheaper than Barco too.

BenQ also has an option called the WDC10 I've had success with.
