So my dad calls me and says he is going to order a TV from these guys because it's $700 less than Best Buy and they offer free shipping. So I give him my price which is somewhere in between the two. I give him all of the horror stories and warn him that I wouldn't do it. I think he will still order from alltimetvs.com! Unbelievable!! Even my own dad is too cheap to see the forest for the trees. Oh well, at least I'll have another story to tell my customers when it's goes bad. Sigh

Waiting for the update:

drewski300, "I can't believe my dad, he calls to tell me that he went ahead and had Best Buy come out and install the TV, figured I was too busy, plus they were only $299 for a 50" or larger. They showed him, "a neat universal remote called a Harmony" that they added for another $450...aaaaaaaaaaaaaawwwwwwww"
Bill's Electric & Home Theater & Plumbing & Automation & Small Engine Repair, and Animal Removal Services......did I mention we do remotes also?

I have stopped helping my parents out. They are more trouble than typical bad customers. That goes for my whole family. I went to a family dinner over a major holiday, and my brother brought his laptop so I could spend the entire time there fixing it for him. They now know my company policy. Absolutely NO family!!!

When he told you what he was going to order, you might have said that right after the order is the moment when Jamie Lee Curtis would come home from her date with a stranger, only to have someone mysteriously appear in the kitchen, wearing a mask and wielding a machete... you've seen horror movies, they are all the same, and you don't want to watch this one.

I've offered wholesale to family for about forty years and nobody has yet asked me for anything. Hey, family: you DO realize that if we get you something, it will make us feel good, and feel that we have been able to show you our love for you in a tangible way, right? But then remember that when we were teenagers, you told us when to be in at night and how to drive the car, and now we get to tell you what kind of equipment and remotes you should have, and just like then, it's all FOR YOUR OWN DAMN GOOD!
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

Been there, done that...

Although my brother in law asked me today if I had a good router in the warehouse.

His Chinese POS $10.00 retail hardwired router needs to be reset every couple hours...

It's funny cause my dad is the worst when it comes to listening. Everyone in the family recommended iPhones/iPads and they went with Droid. I went over to his house and busted out my iPhone, used Airplay, and they practically s#$t themselves. They try really hard to justify their choice.

The funniest part of the story was I called him back to inform him my disty was running a deal with a free blu-ray and glasses. And they still bought it online!

The worst part of this story is if google searches alltimetvs again to continue to "research" his decision this thread isn't too far down the list. My tit will be in a ringer!

Parents are just weird. My folks have droid phones, my mom got an iPad, there are 7 TV's in the house. The TV in their bedroom died, well the panel did. It still gets sound. Rather than buy a new 32" in the one room they watch most, they just listen to it because $400 to replace it with a cheapy TV is just too much money.

Ha! I would have given this one to you but I moved from AT&T to Sprint and haven't looked back. Much gooder!

Are you able to use safari (and other data tasks) while on a telephone call with the Sprint iPhone?

Yes you can. I was worried the network when I switched to sprint. The call quality and signal have been excellent. I get better coverage than I did with Verizon. VERY surprised. The data network is much slower though

I've been with Sprint/Nextel for a long time...

Coverage is pretty bad in a large part of NC. Only thing that keeps me with them is the low monthly that I pay.

I'm hopeful that since the company was just bought out that the service will get better. Not going to get into another two year contract though.

Does CDMA differ from GSM in terms of how well it blankets the area? I wonder if tower density is the only factor in how well a signal is broadcasted. I do notice that the Sprint signal sharply drops off when going up and down hills. MN is pretty flat so we never have to worry for too long.
