Gentlemen: I need to install an IR flasher inside my HLN617. Can someone explain how to remove the screen in order to gain access to the sensor?
Thanks in advance.

Wow. Do this wrong and you could be out a few hundred dollars.

I suggest you locate the local warranty service center and ask them if you can come by and read a service manual. There might be disassembly instructions there. And if that shop won't let you read the book, don't expect them to suddenly be generous and honor the warranty if you remove the screen to install an IR sensor.

How about a Xantech Dinky Link? While these ARE visible, I have gone into homes where I have installed them and forgotten just what I did, and it took me a while to locate the sensor. They really are quite subtle once you quit looking at all the details of the system...after it has been in and working for a while.
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

DinkyLink is a IR Receiver..... I think he wants to Put an Emmitter inside the TV.... I havent taken apart one of these, but I assume its like the Mits' where the receiver is acutally behind the screen.

There is a small opening on the back side of the cabinet that is held on with one screw. If you are looking at the back it is on the left. The opening is just big enough to get your arm through. You will have to use something with a lot of output. We tried an emitter and it was not strong enough so we got a tabletop flasher that is powered by its own transformer.
