We just had a Roman Shade built to cover a screen and the guy brought a motor thats looking for 4 ac wires and a wall mounted switch. Everything he's done so far has been with BTX IR remote control so I already setup the pronto. The wiring I have in place is just a three wire 110 outlet and a Cat5 for an IR emittor.

Surely there must be a product that plugs into 110 somewhere behind this massive valance and recieves IR for up and down contact closure and has 4 AC wires out... I'm here now and thought I'd use the wealth of my peers knowledge instead of spending too much time searching Google.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance

Check with your screen vendor. Could probably use the same control as they use on their motorized screens.
Celedon may have an idea as well.

For AC shade control, typically what's used is a "group controller". I've attached a link for the Lutron/Vimco WC-2M-GC, and a Lutron spec sheet that describes some other options. For a single shade, I don't see why you couldn't use a product like Draper's VIC-12 screen control, its attached as well. None of these solutions include the IR portion, you'll stil need to set up a IR--CC or IR-12v device, there are a number of them.

Somfy, have a wide varity of control products that can meet your requirements. I'm currently working on a $75K blind and shade install, however no IR.

However, in this case we're using Lutron to simplify things as all of the lighting control is Lutron.

Cheers
