I have a ZPR68-10 system installed and I am planning on expanding it and working on it some more in the next 1-2 weeks. I have some questions/ideas and would be interested in any comments. I am going to add a EXP9 for 9 additional zones. Each zone will have CAT5e wire run to it, as that is what I have on hand for the control wiring. I would like to be able to control multiple zones from a master area. I was thinking that I could run a master keypad to a RT16-10 and connect each RT16-10 output to a different zone, thus with proper programming each command would appear to come from a different zone and I would have remote control of each zone. Is this possible? I would also like to integrate control of the ZPR68 with a PC in the future -- possibility in a year or so. This would lead to 2 or more sets of wires running to each zone input on the ZPR and that may be quite a mess of wiring. Would it be possible to wire everything to a 110 punch down block and cross connect to the ZPR so that the ZPR has one set of wires, but the inputs are easily expandable? I'm not exactly sure how a 110 punchdown works so any help would be appreciated

I'll tackle the first; yes, using a router is the way to offer master control of the zpr from a single zone.

Works great, done it before.

Great! It's good to hear that my theory will work at least. Anyone that I can offer any help or comments on the best way to wire this up?
