Has anyone used any of the MAXX product? What do you think? Quality? Factory Support?

The On-Screen interface leaves a lot to be desired, but when used in conjunction with a AMX touchscreen(or crestron even) it rules. Media Access always had pretty good tech support, AMX has stepped it up a bit even.

Pound for pound Maxx gives you more storage/output bang for your buck over Request, but still lacks a few of the nifty ethernet options Request has.

Impaqt,

I think he is talking about this http://www.maxxproducts.com/.

We have used them in small restaraunts and once or twice in homes. The product is okay, pic quality is average. Controlling the plasmas sux. There are supposedly discrete codes available for input selection but I havent been able to get anyone to send these to me. The serial protocol is clean and simple, if you get the right version and IF the plasma responds to the commands. So far I havent had any luck getting more than one or two commands to do anything to the plasma. Personally I am not a big fan of the product. If you are just using them for a TV, great unit. Past that, well I think there are better options out there.

Just my $.06

We gave the Mustang projector, scaler, and SDI DVD player a try. For starters, the Sim2 HT330Xtra blows this setup away. When a dvd switched from a fullscreen menu to a letterboxed picture, the menu would stay on in the area where the black bars should be. It seemed after one power cycle the projector would no longer pic up a signal on the DVI. a hard boot of the scaler would solve this. And last but not least, the scaler is just a rebadged Focus Enhancements. We were very dissapointed with the performance of this setup and shipped everything back to MAXX.

PS..The stupidest thing i thought was that the power cord came out of the side of the projector while all video connections were in the back.
