Never had a bad experience! The ribbon tweeter on the golds is amazing. Great design and a really good forward sound that I enjoy. IMO B&W tend to be a little more musical and Monitor tends to be better all around.

For speakers, what's better all around than musical?

Personally, I love Monitor Audio. I'm completely infactuated with the Soundframes right now. Clients love them and they sound awesome. If I had one negative thing to say it would be about shipping and/or lack of product available when needed. That being said, if you give yourself enough lead time, you won't have the problem. I'm not smart enough to do that. As far as performance, price, and available skus. I think they're top notch.

For speakers, what's better all around than musical? How about all around, all around? ;) As you know, speakers handle content in different ways. Something that is very revealing for jazz might not sound a little harsh or open for dialog. Monitor Audio tends to be forward sounding which is great when pair with a warmer amp. They also have a lot of low end which favors to both movies and music. Once you go with Monitor it's tough to go back to a laid back speaker.

Monitors are great and have sold TONS of silver 6's over the years, but as somewhat eluded to they are better choices for your esoteric audiophile 2 channel customers...but they cannot be beat for their all around ability...SQ, build quality, dynamics and the ability to shift from a very good/great (depending on your ear) 2 channel experience to use in a good/great (again depending on your ear) theater experience. All that said I NEVER had a customer indicate anything less than full satisfaction in their investment.

Other than my personal taste speakers are like ice cream, different people have different tastes but none are really wrong because its what they like.

Never been disappointed with Monitor at all. Usually a bit surprised at how good they sound, actually.

Monitor Audio is a quality brand. They ship from New York and the S&H costs might be the most over priced of all our manufacturers. You can qualify for free shipping with a big enough order. The build quality is nice even on their entry level equipment and I've always been impressed with the sound on their nicer models that can handle more power. We typically pair with Marantz.
