Mandatory, yes, but mandated by whom?
The bigger a manufacturer is, the less they have to answer to the consumer. And the biggest ones feel they can tell US what we want, rather than vice-versa.
I started a thread last year where I ranted about the continuing problem of lack of discrete codes (as I tend to do), and QQQ suggested that CEDIA should set the standards. I'm still hoping something like that will happen, as plasmas are some of the worst offenders when it comes to non-integratability (sp?)
How cool would it be to have a page at cedia.com that listed CEDIA-certified gear, one with qualifications developed by us, that we could all use for determining first-choice gear on a proposal?
