@ jcb and gman...
Thanks

Same client different question....we've been emailing that he cannot access his camera dvr through a computer, only his ipad. He tried computer at work and at his house.(pc)
He receives a message indicating it doesnt recognize the address. I asked him for the exact wording and a screenshot which he will do later. I instructed him to download activex when prompted but he doesnt get to that point. He is using IE.
I can access with no problem from any pc ipad or iphone. I had him clear his cache and try again.
Other than what ive done so far would you know of anything else causing this?

What DVR is it? What version of IE is he running? He may need to enable ActiveX in his browser.

It is a tvt based dvr that is oem'd for the supplier i buy from. Have never had this problem, even though i can access, just not from his computers at work or home. Notmally when you try to access dvr for the first time it asks you to download and run activex, but i will look into having him change those settings manually.
Thanks

I almost always have to change the security settings to either allow or prompt for ActiveX. There are several settings. Also have had issues in the past with compatibility mode that was causing weird errors until you added the site to the list.

Which list are you referring to add the site to?

I don't have first hand experience with these DVRs. In general with access issues I look for security suites running. "Internet security " suites are especially problematic. They often start in a fail safe mode (deny almost everything) until actively configured to allow.

If the "work " pc is a corporate pc or location, their guidelines and therefore firewalls may be blocking. Enterprise firewalls can block in a variety of ways including protocols.
