I'd be broke if my clients saw my rats nest.

A couple of years ago I moved from one apartment to another in the same block.

After I unplugged all my gear, it then took three people to pick up the bundle of cables to carry it to the new apartment.

I have to admit my home is not my neatest work ever but its kept nice. My main problem is im too cheap to go buy a bigger rack... The 5footer isnt cutting it.

All of my structured wiring panels and local tv equipment locations are nice and clean though

Im pretty sure my wife thinks I am terrible at what I do because the home system is always in pieces. Adding parts, changing programming, loaning remotes or sources to clients, never get around to wire manage or cooling.... Its crazy.

When a button on the remote doesn't work (cuz i messed with the programming to try something new and missed ANYTHING in the pre-testing) my wife says: "my next husband is going to be good at electronics."
OUCH!

Thanks to all of you, I can take a breath. I've been "meaning to beautify" my system for years. I know better than to add remove anything without making it functional but it is one UGLY mess of wires (no HDMI yet so component video, digital audio, analog for every source for Zone2, Xbox, Wii, Sonos, yada yada). I'd be broke if my clients saw my rats nest.

My rack started out nice!
After ten years of changes and temporary testing scenarios,it became a bit of a cluster.

We bought a new house 1700 miles away and it's back in polished form...........
for now!
Man I could use a pina colloda
A little bit of sun on my skin...
A hammock,a book, never gonna look back Once my feet hit the sand.....

Let him harm the harmony. Then get a real remote. You will thank him.

I hear you, but we cannot get anything better. We can't get anything that a pro must supply and program. We don't have a system that complex. I still use a ProLogic receiver with RCAs. The PVR is not HD. The only use of HDMI is the Bluray. There's notihng here that justifies paying anyone to do anything, even if we could afford it. So you can see the H900 is more than adequate here as long as it works. It puts everything together better than any universal can. Man that Kameleon was a pain to use and a battery hog!

I suppose I'm lucky that I get to gut a house and do it all over again in the Fall. Take what I know and do it in the best idea of "right" that I have...which of course will change in a few months and will probably be obsolete in a few years, but that's why we love this industry, right? Right?
