I've tried to do macros on older Hitachi RPTVs and not found a discrete code to work and this last week got my hands on a HD Hitachi (60 inch I believe). I had to do my first RTI remote, which was fun. I was sure I'd find all kinds of discrete codes that would work; but even downloading the entire library from RTI's website didn't get me a discrete off or on I could use.

Was it the RTI software that did not include it - should I have cut and pasted some hex, or is the TV just in the dark ages?

Thanks,
=Tom
There is no truth anymore. Only assertions. The internet world has no interest in truth, only vindication for preconceived assumptions.

Tom,

I just bought the 65S700 for myself (that's right, for all my knowledge work and experience with Toshiba, Pioneer and Mitsu, I went Hitachi for my own home)

I don't know the RTI product very well...but the Hitachi clicker has seperate buttons for every input, and there are also discrete sodes available for power, aspect, and picture level presets!

Don't despair, if you're looking at the 60v500 or 60vx500 (both sweetlooking LCD's) then codes for everything are available.

Let emknow, I can get em to ya!

Tom, I also have an older Hitachi 2001 model..at the time the Hitachi's did not support power discretes..All the newer ones do..but unfortunately the older ones just dont have power discretes..I took home a CHAD from the office that did everything perfect here at the store when I finished it..All the same gear..but just would not do power for my Hitachi correctly.. Then Daniel Tonks confirmed it for me..The older ones just don't do it..
