Have to agree with Matt....I'd be more inclined to think 70 volt systems would need something more of a high endurance, tough-as-nails, sort of design. I sure wouldn't want my 24-7-365 70 volt system being driven off a (more than likely) small wattage, very expensive world-class hi-fi amp. 70 Volt systems just aren't worth it. At least that's my opinion.

Want a tough amp? I read an article about putting a Mark Levinson (I'm 99% sure) through a real torture test.

They fed it a 1kHz sine wave and welded with it!!!

Afterward, it ran and sounded fine. Unreal!

Yeah, they are great amps...but I can't afford them. LOL

I'm VERY happy with my Carver AV705x!

Well, I guess the cost would be prohibitive, but to me, I honestly cannot hear the subtle differences people talk about with amplifiers. The only amp I ever heard that truly set itself apart from the rest, was a Conrad Johnson, I think....through mid-level speakers (Can't recall the brand though) A/B against an Audio Research, and it really did seem to have something special to it, other than that...I just can't hear it. An amp is an amp.
