Just hoping to get some opinions, reviews, or any other thoughts from those that use both ICRealtime and Wirepath. I have not yet worked with ICRealtime, but have heard nothing but good things and will be working with one within the next month. I have some projects coming up and would like to get a jump on putting together some proposals, and was wondering if people prefer one over the other. One strength of the ICRealtime at this time is the ability to view on a Mac without the need for some sort of virtual Windows. Anything else to consider?

Both are excellent!
What is your flavor of control system?
If you are a C4 dealer I highly recommend Wirepath.

No experience on wirepath.  ICRealtime is great overall in comparing to other manufacturers.

There is a downside on ICRealtime, you have to pay for IOS app and only viewing capable.

Just remember ICrealtime is just a "Dahua" based unit, and they have marketed/positioned their product to be "top end" with a price point that follows "top end".

Other companies have same product with a price point considerably less, for more money for your bottom end. Also there are free basic apps for ICrealtime and the other "Dahua" based products. I give my customers the choice.

One of the buggers is the PSS program that it is overly complicated for end users, sometimes has difficulty running on Mac, for that I will sell a Digital Watchdog system if need be.

I havent used icrealtime in over a year but when we did I found the os to be clunky and VERY dated looking. Cumbersome, VERY cumbersome and every customer thought using it SUCKED as they just couldnt figure it out. Not user friendly at all.

I think the wirepath looks a little dated as well but at least its pretty easy as well. I have never seen a "pretty" gui on any dvr's.

I usually use GenIV or Qvis rather than ICR because of what gwilly stated. Follow up service has been good with both those companies.

I have done one wirepath DVR. One thing I do like about the Dahua's is there is CMS software in addition to just using IE.
Some clients like to just have the software up and cameras visible rather than using IE.

I'm having some growing pains with the wirepath, trying to figure out some things I find annoying. Like having to power cycle the DVR before I could get output on the HDMI since I had plugged the monitor in after everything was up and running. I'm also having a tough time using IE remotely to pull up cameras. And the main login is wierd, you have to click login first and then setup rather than just clicking setup and being prompted to login.

Have you used it? Wondering how it compares to Wirepath. The Wirepath app is easy to use, but does have some issues. I know they will be updating it at some point here. I am a little surprised to see of some of the issues with ICRealtime. One of the reasons I have zeroed in on them is because of the great reviews I have read on this site from other installers.

I haven't tried it yet - my rep told me about it but haven't had a chance to update any clients (requires a firmware update on the DVR).

Digital watchdog has the best app period. Especially on ipad. ACS software works great. IE viewing is great.
I love supporting product that supports me!

If a company would just make a dead simple interface meant for the END USER and not an installation company, - like something as simple as a roku remote and make it a quality product as well, they would kick ass in this area. Instead they put a bunch of extra buttons that no end user gives a crap about. Snaps is still too non-intuitive in my mind. Any consumer would rather jump through a few intuitive menus rather deal with a bunch of non-intuitive shortcut buttons.

We continue to use ICrealtime. Why? It is what we know. Really a pain in my opinion to set up the DVR. NEVER, tell the customer about emailing them when a camera senses motion. 3 emails per picture. 1000 emails by the morning time because of bugs. Errrrr.

I need to play with that on my IC DVRs. There is a latch feature and another one I can't remember. Shouldn't that stop the many email per event?
Like I said, I need to play with it more...

I use Wirepath 90% of the time now. If I need a CMS or more than 16 channels, I use IC Realtime. I agree with cost for IC Realtime. The IC Realtime DVRs are good, but i feel they are over priced for what they are.

The main problem is that I get 3 email for one picture. 1 email to tell me motion detected, one email to say that it took a picture and one more to give me the actual picture.
