I have a client who dislikes the constant volume changes in TV especially from channel to channel. I've been reading up about some professional audio mixers that can keep the volume at a constant level. I was wondering if anyone has any experience or recommendations with such a beast. Or even a reciever with the option of "leveling" the audio. I would think there could be lip sync issue with doing such things and I've been reading that the technology doesn't lend itself to TV broadcast or movies to well because of silences and distortion. Anyway thanks for any help or direction.

Here is one piece I have found if anyone is interedted.

Check Radio Design Labs.

To me, the best product they make is a hunk of steel that you can mount six wall warts onto, and six one-foot extension cords to connect them to a power strip. Lord, how I hate wall warts, especially when you have oodles of small electronic units!
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

Gotta Recomend it.....

Terk VR-1
[Link: terk.com]

Works great for TV regulation and even does a pretty good job on a CD player disc to disc......... And 1/4 the price of the RDL

qI've read mixed reviews on the Terk but I think I'll try that first because it is a much cheaper alternative. Thanks Impa

Recommend the volume buttons on the remote control.

Every component you bring to bear on your signal adds a little of what you don't want, and takes away a little of what you do want.

Obvious, I know. Customer satisfaction isn't always about the best performance. Ignorance and apathy sometimes prevail.

I know sima www.simacorp.com has an A/V selector with that feature, don't know if they have an attenuator or not. The nice thing is that you can set it at the level you want
