I just bought the smarthome PC to IRLinc. I don't want to use thier program to send commands out. I want to use a terminal program to send commands to the IRLinc. Does anyone have any experience doing this?
Help would be much appreciated.

Sounds like you should be looking at the Global Cache GC-100. Nifty PC to IR/RS232/Relay interface....
