Paul, I confirm that IR works just fine.
The Wii style remote sucks so don't even bother putting batteries in them. As long as they are not paired the IR codes work perfectly.

If you get tempted to try the remote in jack on the back of the TV, don't.
It will do nothing more than shut down the front IR sensor and does not accept control commands.

Other than that the TVs are great.

A little update...

I've installed the first of the 3 little 32" LG TVs.  As others have mentioned, the Magic remote operates jsut like a Wii remote.  Cute, but not really practical.

I opened it up to stick an emitter inside and was controlled easily with URC.

My biggest complaint is that the depth specification of 1.4" is bull.  The TVs are 1.4" until it gets to the bottom where the speakers buldge out to 2"!

I bought these because I needed a thin TV and that's not really what I got.

The first one was recessed into a kitchen niche on articulating bracket, so it worked out ok, but the next two are flush mounting and I'm worried they won't be thin enough.

The flat mounts I puchased also don't fit the LG TVs because of the speakers buldging out (even though the manufacturers site says they are compatible).  I guess they would work if I used the spacers to offset the mount over the speaker hump, but then the TV is going to stick out almost 2.75".

Here's a picture of the first one installed.  32" LG in kitchen and 55" Sony XBR in living room.

I found the code in CCP, (sorry I mispoke on that one) under code set 286 labelled "X Studio Pro". The button on the Magic Remote is labelled home, but using any of the "home" codes in CCP was to no avail.
