I installed a KXTA6244 phone system with 3 CO's and 4 door stations. My question is can the system send a 12V signal to the audio system for mute when the phone and door stations ring. I have used a piece from viking that will send a 12V signal when an incoming line rings, but that is only on one CO and will not work with the door phones. Any advice would be appreciated.

Off the top of my head, I don't think so. But, why not stick your Viking box on a dedicated system extension, programmed to ring in response to COs & doorphones that you wish to trigger mute?

Darn it, Max. You stole my thunder.

Unused extension programmed to ring to the Viking LDB will deliver contact closure. Works great.

Why can't you put the viking on the ouput card as an extension? Then when that extension rings you would have your 12v.
