Guys is there a site where dealers can sell or trade gear? Over time we have wound up with gear that we just don't need or won't use but I am sure some dealers would need the stuff. I have everything from brand new music servers to keypads, all sorts of adaptors, Panasonic PBX parts, etc... Even tools and things we don't use anymore. Oh and tons of used universal remotes. I have piles of MX1000's we updated to 700's. We order something for a customer, system changes, and we wind up with unused gear. Anyone else have this problem? is it OK to post something for sale here?

Theres this small site thats gaining popilarity... ebay or something liek that... I hear its a pretty good site for selling stuff....

Audiogon is a good site for AV gear specifically.

There is a Marketplace forum here on RC as well.

Impaqt I am talking about stuff I would never want to sell to an end-user. I don't think selling a used touchscreen on e-bay or audiogon is a good idea. This is stuff that is sometimes way too complicated for most consumers, I would want to sell to another installer who already knows the stuff. I guess the marketplace here may be the best. Thanks.

Why not?

Prontos are for sale on ebay all the time, and I just haveta presume that everybody who buys them does not just learn single commands, but also uses the editing program to customize the remotes.

And ebay is the ultimate "caveat emporium," in the words of some clever individual who shall remain nameless because I don't know who the heck he is. If you don't have any business buying something, why are you bidding on it? You win it, it's yours, even if you can only use it as a doorstop. I think ebay buyers are savvy enough to make their own choices, and it is a good place to get rid of even the strangest stuff.
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

No Matter what it is, You can find it on E-Bay.
(I sound like a commertial)

If someone can sell Mig-29's and F-117 fighter Jets on Ebay, I think you could sell a touchpanel or 2.

There is lots of Crestron and AMX on Ebay even. I purchased most of my personal automation gear there as buying a year or 2 old model gets me the gear to play with for much less than I could buy it from the manufacturer new.....

Agreed....

eBay will be the best site to actually move the stuff you want to get rid of. If you post it on a smaller site like RC, you probably won't get rid of the stuff very quickly. Exposure, exposure, exposure.
