I'm curious if anyone uses Ivory, Almond and Light Almond anymore.
In my area its all about white and I haven't seen anything but in a very long time.
Distys still carry the other stuff so I'm guessing it depends on the area.

Does anyone use this stuff regularly?

I try to match existing faceplates when I can, or if I'm doing a Lurton job I'll bring in the color keychain.

In new homes a least in my area have all gone to white unless there is an interior decorator that says otherwise.

Light almond was popular in the Rockies and I see it now and again in the Bay area. But white is the predominate color for trim out here.

Around here it's half and half; White and Light Almond. If the job is totally homegrown sometimes you will see Ivory.

Here in Houston, ever since we elected a lesbian mayor, colors have been swinging to lavender and pastel pink.

Those colors were just the worst to match! It's all white where we are, except for black where we don't want the outlet to be seen back behind the equipment but there's still line of sight to it.

It's not hard to discourage their use, especially ivory, by calling it smoker's white.

White seems to be the preferred color.........thankfully.
The 40 different shades of almond drove me nuts!
I also use black behind tv's when they aren't recessed.

Interesting that you mention this...We just did a Crestron lighting job and we had light almond in the house and white in the garage....Talk about 70's man.......

Generally it is white but some of the funky condos that we do have black and sometimes brushed stainless......

Mostly white but lots of light almond as well. I much much much prefer white but the light almond doesnt look bad at all. Depends on the trim color. Seems alot of homes are going off white trim instead of white trim. Using white face plates actually doesnt look near as good as light almond in those cases. Of course I hate off white trim. Looks old and faded to me but matches the face plates. lol.

Havnt done a job in over 3 years that used white. It's probably 50/50 ivory and light alond for us. (anything that's not Lutron custom)

An ongoing struggle with a recent twist; Leviton recently announced they are discontinuing the standard almond color, and only offering light almond. That makes it awkward, since manufacturers like Russound and others only offered standard almond flavor.

It depends on the age of the home here. New is pretty much always white. I hate almond and ivory. To me, it just looks like a dirty, old and faded plate. White looks nice and clean. Of course you have to match however. Nothing looks worse than a white keypad next to almond light switches.
