Big. Don't spend money on small form factor. It cost money to make small subs sound as good as bigger subs. Yes big subs have more material, but the speaker drivers themselves don't have to be as intense. Plus larger speakers in general can more easily play the low low fequencies we all love.

So best bang for the buck, the Velodyne Impact 12 is good at $500 and just use two!

Or for $800 the supercube 4000.

At this price point there are a lot of directions you can go. I would say that just about every speaker manufacturer has a sub in this price range that will make most folks pretty happy.

I know that someone will mention SnapAV, although their speakers are pretty good, I haven't loved most of their subs. The little cub wasn't bad for the money.
Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean that they aren't out to get you.

If you can stretch to $1000 then the HRS-12 is a good pick. HRS-8 is $800 but the 8" is more of a form factor then a "bang for the buck" sub. Triad Bronze Omni is also good in the $600-800 range.

I think question is geared towards what sub is the best to sell to customers. Not an internet direct company that shows a $1200 savings.

+1

Dynamo 700 (10") is $700.

And the Dynamo 1000 (12") is $1k.

Both phenomenal values and performance!

I have heard and liked the Martin Logan sub. I installed a customer supplied one before. I danced all over the floor. Kind of a pain in the arse if you ask me.

Still sounded great.
