I have a client where on-wall is really the only option and he has older Tannoy LCR in place now.
I thought I'd upgrade to the Arena HL series.
Any "real" info on them? Disty says they're great, but...
Thanks.

I've used the Tannoy Highline 300 a as a center channel on projects, which has worked out great. The fit and finish of the speakers is very good and it blends well with the look of the displays (clients were very happy).
Those installs were in smaller rooms, so if you have a larger room or someone that likes it loud I would go with the Highline 500. It also steps you up into one of their dual concentric drivers, which improves the sound and off-axis imaging.
I've never used the Highline subs though since I didn't need the extra good looks for a sub, and just went with a Tannoy TS series or a good Velodyne. If you want more specific details just let me know.

People buying Arena are buying it generally at first for the look.
We are Tannoy reseller since 13 years now and personnaly, I always find Arena (all models) too expensive for the sound you get. When it's a design matter (waf or daf) then they become pretty popular, but there is a lot of other solutions in this price range.
+1 for the TS subs. They are really good.

I am listening to the Arena's right now, I bought them a few years ago. Very happy with them powered by a Denon receiver.
