Guys, I'm not using Chrome and don't want to. Lately I've been plagued with Firefox locking up my laptop; finally I get a message that there's an unresponsive script. I'm not sure about other times, because I've just said NO and gone about my business, but right now I got two identical such messages, saying the script is chrome//:global/content/bindings/scrollbox.xml:122 After posting this, I noted there's a third such message, but this one says the script is... oops, showed up as a link. I'm going to add some spaces so you can see all the parts: ht tps://ww w.google.com/calendar/static/1372242727199cdc240ae8661611ad64calendarjs_doozercompiled_en.js:28 Hell, there's another one that came up after I cleared that one. This one starts ht tps:// ma il.google.com etc. And I've got Firefox set up so that when I click one particular link, google mail, google contacts, google calendar, and google maps all open in the one browser. It's worked flawlessly in this laptop for months and still does in my desktop. Also, "Don't ask me again" doesn't seem to work. I keep getting this kind of error. It seems like I'd need to check that for each different script, not just for a generic NEVER ask me no matter what. I cannot remember and always feel really dumb about just where to go in the computer to stop the unresponsive script messages, and I think when I last located it, the box was checked saying not to inform me about this. Any ideas how to get rid of this problem? ThinkPad T43, Type 1871, XP.

I had to remove Firefox and re-install it...
That cured the similar issues I was having.
In the interim I loaded Opera. FWIW, I like it better...

I tried to be a loyal FF user, but after way too many locks ups I had to move on to Chrome. There were a few uninstalls over years as well. Using both Vista and Windows 7 (32 bit).

I don't want medicine, do you have any idea of how to get rid of pneaumonia? 2. There's a hot chick that really likes me, I don't like my current girlfriend all that much, she treats me bad, she's ugly too, I think I'll stay with her because I'm getting used to the abuse. 3. I don't need a Cadillac, I need to get there fast so I'll ride my bicycle. Just sayin' :)

But you're wrong. Firefox has worked really well until recently, and there's no indication that the problem really is firefox. If Chrome is so great, why is the only indication that I've got it contained in an error that chokes FireFox?
1. Somebody stuck some castor oil down my throat, and maybe that aggravated pneumonia somehow. Makes no sense to me.
2. Some "hot chick" (which, for all I know, means a burning feeling) seems to have snuck into bed and is... well, I can't write that here, but my current girlfriend, really hot, seems to be sick and I want her to be better.
3. Some folks like Cadillacs but I have found my White Van to be a wonderful way to get around for work. Until recently.

I have recently been having problems with Safari on everything. Debating on switching to Opera, Firefox, or back to IE. I will NOT use Chrome, as I feel that recording everything I put in the browsers is a violation of my privacy.

[Link: kb.mozillazine.org] You're seeing an internal Firefox error, nothing to do with Google Chrome.

I too had been a loyal FF user up until a month or so ago. But in the past 4 months I started getting the unresponsive scripts messages, general slowdowns, and a lot more disk activity. Typical memory footprint was getting close to 1GB. So I switched to Chrome, and most if not all of that has been resolved. In fact I find myself opening way more tabs (20+) than before 'because I can', and still the memory footprint is 1/3 to 1/2 of FF. There were a few weeks of getting used to stuff, but now that I'm over that I'm pretty happy with it.

Yea, but not by using Chrome as a browser. They're doing that by your usage of search, gmail, calendar, docs, etc (unless you opted out like I did). So Google still knows a lot about you even if you use Firefox. And don't get me started about facebook...

@Ernie Gilman
Have you tried to do a fresh install of FF? Also have you tried running CCleaner? I run CCleaner on a regular basis because it has some great options for keeping things running smooth. i.e.(cleaning out cache, history, cookies, and compacting the FF database)
Just a thought
