Does anyone have experience with using a universal remote with a Sony DHCFL5D (or similar) HI-FI system. This system is supplied with a DIGIPAD remote which is called "universal" but only seems to do Sony TV's. When I got the system, i tried to use the universal remote i had, but even though it seemed to learn the functions from the DIGIPAD it would not control the HI-FI. I am looking to get a new remote but i want to make sure it will work with my HI-FI. Any help appreciated.

Ok, I need some serious help now. As I did not seem to be getting any useful suggestions on which universal remote I should use with my Sony DHCFL5D HiFi I went and got myself a Sony RM-VL900. This remote seemed to have the features I required but was still fairly simple and well priced. But guess what it does not work either. None of the provided codes work and the RM-VL900 seems to learn the commands from the DIGIPAD but then it does not control the Hi-Fi. What the hell is this DIGIPAD? Does it work by magic? Does the DIGIPAD use a different frequency range? Please help. I either need some way to make the RM-VL900 work or some suggestions on what universal remote WILL work.
Cheers, LingGit
