quick update...

pioneer makes a 8m cable... It works fine for displaying S-video and composite, but we're not sure if it's the 8m input cables from the HD box or if it's the 8m cable hooking up the monitor to the control box...

Hopefully, these people will only use their fireplace as a decoration, but not because of the plasma above it.... I hope it's only a decoration because when I was smashing the wall to get sheetrock out of the way to build bracing for the mounting bracket, my sledge fell into the fireplace, and it's a NOT coming out!



This was actually one helluva installation...

1) the components are in 2 places, 8m apart
2) the digital cable box is in a closet in the bathroom with the HD converter and the DVD player... composite out of cable box, s-video out on dvd
3) the screen may be right next to the video switching box, but there's an 8m long cable running up the wall, through the ceiling, then down the fireplace to the monitor...
4) there's 2 IR repeater systems with one target... one brain is 9v, the other 12v...a little creative wiring, and they work perfectly together
5) MX-700 remote- one of the first in Houston
6) custom made matching wood cabinets with marble tops... One too small because of the additional signal box (damned pioneer!!!), which is the reason for the others being in a closet in the bathroom...
7) 200 cd changer that has video outputs so you can see what you're listening to... heh
8) Panasonic digital phone system with all new cat5e wiring

One more trip and it's done... show me some MONEY.. my a-Fiat-a needs some motor work!
