Still new to the IR distribution field. Im going to be installing a sstem for a customer who will have 3 Dish Net sat boxes at the home run location. All will be on same IR codes, but ARE adressable. Probably going to be a 522 DVR and a couple 311's. Will also have other sources such as DVd, VCR, etc. No audio is needed other than the built in TV audio. There will be 7 tv's, and the 3 sat boxes (4 tuners with the 522). Various extra sources as mentioned such as DVd, etc.

Looking at xantech.com, the 795-20 seemed to be the best bet. (4 zone) Each source will be modulated to the 7 TV sets. Family members will be able to choose between ANY of the satellite recievers, assuming its not already in use by another family member. Plus each family member will be able to choose the laternative sources if desired. (DVd, etc) Am I thinking right by choosing the 795-20? Cat5e is already home run, but was originally intended for phone lines behind the TV set. As the sat boxes will now be in the home run, instead of at the TV's, I can now use the cat 5e for i/red. OR, I can run the i/red over the RG-6. Any pro's or cons by using one over the other? Can I still use the cat5e for phone AND i/red, as the phone only needs (2) of the (8) wires? I/red only needs (3) correct)

I was planning on using something like the set top i/red recievers, or the single j-box recievers, for the in room recievers.

I shpuld know this, but is the 522 only UHF on the second tuner, or will i/red work as well? If not, how would I convert the i/red to UHF for the second tuner on the 522? I would just use the original UHF remote on the 522's, but then Id be stuck with still somehow controlling the tuner that is i/red controlled. (tuner 1), plus the remaining 311 recievers.

Any recommendations on an inexpensive programmable remote for each location? It would need to be capable of INDEPENDANTLY cotrolling EACH satellite recievers, (whose adress codes will be different) i.e., from each room, ch 22 for sat 1, ch 24 for sat 2, ch 26 for sat 3, etc.

thanks
