In response to Ernie, Yes we have blind holes for mounting. We are using rubber feet that have threaded studs. Underneath the base are threaded holes for the feet that are "blind" from the top of the base. We will have a 1mm dimple marks on top for installers to know where they are and just drill out for screw down.

Cgav, We have all cost figures out to the penny and are ready to manufacture here in the USA. This is not my first product launch. I have managed the launch and manufacturing of 12 other products for another company so understand all the issues involved manufacturing both in the USA and China. I chose to use a manufacture that I have known for 15 years who does excellent work and I want it made here to support our economy. Also on a side note for small companies manufacturing in China is not an easy thing to do. Read some of the horror stories on Kickstarter for evidence. Delivery times are also a major issue with China 3-4 month by ship.. When it comes to quality expect 15-20% of china made product to be made wrong and then you need to wait 3-4 months for the next batch. Working here allows us to make quick changes and adjust to the market place. Most quality manufactures in the US are or have adjusted to meet quantity pricing to get their pricing to be pretty competitive with comparable Chinese competitors. Among US manufactures there is a strong urgency to be competitive and they are investing heavily in production machinery. This is my first breakout product not working for another company and we are working hard to get it launched. Thanks for the support.

I didn't mean for my comment on funding to be insulting if it was taken that way. I am ignorant on the subject when it comes to manufacturing, but IMHO, $30k seems incredibly low. Especially since (presumably) a majority of that $30k will be going towards fulfilling orders (pledges). I think you easily could have swung for twice that amount.

No offense at all. If you look at most projects on Kickstarter they get over funded by double and sometimes triple. We debated about going higher but we reviewed many articles about successful projects and they say to go lower. If we get over funded great. If we get underfunded we lose..

What do you expect the price range to be for this? I'd imagine everyone who bought it, unless it was, oh, say, Walmart, will be buying two to six of 'em. (That's a bias from my experience as I deal mostly with individual businesses, mostly restaurants and clubs.)

Then again, Walmart would insist on Chinese manufacture, would tell you the price, and would tell you who else you could sell it to.
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

Cool. I am in for a silver one.
I may be schizophrenic, but at least I have each other.

great looking product, but I don't see any mention re: securing or otherwise locking down the device; not the ipad, so much as the entire register. Have you considere milling a keyhole notch to allow a laptop-type locking cable (Targus, Kensington, etc) to secure the device so that it can't be walked off with? IMO that's a critical must-have for retail.
