Do your requirements involve seeing for 2 miles, disorientating perpetrators,or seeing the labels in dimly lit racks?
I always have my Streamlight stylus pro in my pocket for light duty stuff that i deal with every day.
It's about the size of a sharpy, lasts forever on two AAA's,and puts out enough light to see for about 30-50 feet clearly.
Everything I own that is brighter is attached to a gun! Hopefully I'll never need it but I'm ready!

I stick with maglites for two reasons.
1. I can narrow the beam to a point which makes it easier to peer into narrow holes or corners of attics.
2. I can still get them with regular bulbs -not LED. Ive found that with LED's, I cant shine my light through the front of a piece of equipment to find the IR target, which a annoys the crap out of me

Love these. Bayco. Spotlight on the end, work light on the side. There are a few different sizes. Rechargeable by any 12V power supply. Charge lasts hella long, has a folding hook and is light. Great general purpose light. [Link: baycoproducts.com]

seriously, I got a surefire flashlight a few years ago as a groomsman gift. I personally could never spend the money on those flashlights but my god this thing is incredible. It literally is bright as day and has been abused worse then any tool ive ever used. Its even been dropped 3 stories on concrete during a prewire! If and when this dies I do think Ill order a new one. Im sure the $70 ones are fantastic too! [Link: surefire.com]

They have to put up with three story drops because powerful flashlights like this are still f**=cking ROUND and can roll right off most anything.
Make a flashlight similar to this that won't roll off... and don't include a stupid flashing mode that HAS to be turned on before you can turn off the flashlight... and I'll consider it.

My boss just wanted me to get a "real flashlight" I like the pen size and also about a "2D" size. This isn't for life/death, more for ceiling and rack illumination. Money isn't an issue, but I would like something <$100 as it's the people's money.

Check out Milwaukee tools. They have a whole line of lights now. From a small pen light all the way up to jobsite lights. They have USB rechargeable models and some in D cell battery sized that use their M12 batteries [Link: milwaukeetool.com][Link: milwaukeetool.com]

I looked at the 2106 and the 2110. They look great! Bright, USB rechargeable, damn near unbreakable.
Then I read "three light modes." One of those is strobe. WTF?
Why the flamin' hell do they think everybody needs strobe mode? To fight off attackers? In your average (or even in your exceptional!) ceiling or crawl space?
Turn it on, good. Turn it off, good. Have to push the button an extra time, every time? BS.
Really, what's with strobe? I've suspected for a long while that a great IC salesman is at the root of this stupidity, and every time I see "strobe" I feel like I'm reading Vogon poetry. Salesman said "this controller IC not only squeezes all the power out of the battery, it also has a strobe mode! Everyone will love it! Buy it from me! Buy it now!" Some idiot did, and since then everybody has been afraid not to include it on their flashlights.

This work light... [Link: m.harborfreight.com]Plus this battery charger... [Link: amazon.com]Plus... the 18650 cells from your old laptop battery Equals a whole lot of light. I have only been to Harbor Freight three times. This third time I found this worklight and love it. It has a magnet, so I can attach to the metal on the submarine. And the bottom unscrews so I can swap out the 18650 for a charger one. Which I happen to have 6 from my old laptop. KOT

One of our distributors has he gentos line of lights. I’ve looked at a few they have online but haven’t seen them in person. They seem to have quite a few to choose from. [Link: gentos.jp]
