I do seem to have full functionality of the receiver over the network otherwise, including Rhapsody streaming and web control.

Try...

Set the "automatically check for update" to OFF, Set "show available update" ( or whatever they call it also to OFF, Set all zones to Phono, Turn each zone off, unplug it for 15 seconds, plug it back in, turn on main zone... it should still be on Phono, go into the Menu GUI and choose update, NOT "check" for update.

The main thing is to NOT have any zone using the network portion of the receiver.

To Matt, or anyone who knows. How can I get some Denon Ci training? I'm near Toronto. I can call my supplier on Monday, but I'm curious now.

Thanks, Craig

Alright, I tried your suggestions, but achieved the same results. The receiver enters a retry loop. It does seem as if the receiver actually download and installs the update as the firmware version afterwards is 0007. Additionally, the "friendly name" shows on the network after the update, whereas it did not show before the update (reset net card to version 0000).

It is as if the receiver downloads and installs the version 0007, but a glitch in the software fools the receiver into thinking the download was incomplete, and enters the eternal retry download loop.

What is next?!?!

Additionally, the network card functions fully as far as I can tell. I have no difficulty saving or loading configurations, no trouble streaming, nor difficulty accessing web functions.

You can call Denon and ask for info- if your supplier doesn't buy directly from Denon, they may not forward info.
My mechanic told me, "I couldn't repair your brakes, so I made your horn louder."
