Hi,

Very late to this I know but could the original poster tell us how the FULL reset was performed. I have an issue with my 3312 where everything works except for the web control of Internet Radio where I always get a 'Connection error' window when I try to access it. It did work fine for about a week and I was able to setup some internet radio presets this way - then it just started throwing the error (multiple PC's, different browsers - makes no difference).

The normal microprocessor reset definately doesn't seem to touch this part of the setup as my internet radio presets are always still intact are going back through the setup wizard...

Help....

Power the unit OFF. Hold Net Radio Preset 1 and 2 while powering the unit ON. Allow the display to flash 3 or 4 times then release. I would then select the NET/USB input and wait for the connection process to run.

Let us know your findings after testing.

Hi Matt,

Many thanks for the response. Your process is the one I've already tried with no success. I also tried a so-called 'Network Reset' as documented on the avsforums site (effectively the same as you suggested but using presets 1 & 3 instead) - the end result is exactly the same in either case though - I am forced through the full setup wizard but all my existing presets are still intact and the error message remains after I've completed this.

Can't see why it has any issue with it though as all other network functionality remains good (airplay, the net radio presets I'd already configured) - it's just the web control of that one element. Bizarre!

Ian try turning on DHCP in the menu. (You can always set it back after.) I had an issue where having it set to static IP caused connection problems. This was confirmed by tech support. As soon as I set it to DHCP bingo! everything connected. This only ever happened at one location (apple router, Time Warner ISP) but worth a try.

If that's the solution then you can always reserve an IP address within the DHCP range in the router settings. This gives you a fixed IP while looking like a DHCP address to the Denon.

Hi Terrmul,

Tried with DHCP & Static - makes no difference.

Just to clarify though - all the network functionality is fine except for accessing that one segment of the web control - 'Net/USB'.

All other pages work fine (i.e. changing source, volume level, system setup details, etc).

Thanks again,

Of all the those commands internet radio is the only one that needs internet access, all others are over local network only. It's a long shot but rebooting the router and forwarding the denon ports (can't remember what they are) is worth a try.

OK, tried rebooting the router hasn't helped either.

It almost seems as if the web page it's trying to load has become corrupt somehow - but Denon doesn't seem to offer a downloadable version of the firmware so that I could try to reflash it - unless someone knows different ?

You need to be a Denon CI certified installer/dealer to get that info. Besides, your problem is most likely your router/modem, not the Denon.

Many thanks for the response - not exactly helpful in any way though is it ? Surely if the switch/router was at fault I'd be unable to use the web control at all whereas it actually works absolutely fine for EVERYTHING except NET/USB ?

To try to prove a point could you (or in fact anybody) try using the web control on your own xx12 amp (assuming you have one) to search for a station called 'Penistone FM' (it's a very local station to where I live here in the UK).

I think you'll find the the station causes the web control to become completely unstable somehow and the controls become unusable - in my case I couldn't set it as a preset through the web control but had to use the remote and on-screen GUI. It's more or less since then that the web control has ceased to work for NET/USB.

Many thanks to anybody who could try this for me.

Ian.

Further to this I have now tried a couple of different routers from alternative manufacturers - and unfortunately the issue remains.

Ian,

I want to make certain I understand what is happening.

So internet radio is working, the issue is just with your control of it over IP? Or do you not have any net radio playback?

Hi Matt,

You are correct, the internet radio will work just fine if I attempt to control it with the normal remote & using the TV (or front panel) as the display.

The issue is only when trying to use it with web control from a PC.

Thanks,

Ian.

Which browser are you using? Have you tried more than one? I only ask, because I have seen some weird things with the Save and Load feature on IE and I am not able to reproduce it on any other browsers. So the issue could be limited to the browser.

Side question, do you have an IOS device (iPad...) if yes, does the App work?

Hi,

I get the same issue using IE9 or Firefox 10/11 (from Windows 7x64).

I borrowed an iPhone to try with the app - this seems to work fine.
My own phone is an Android device - there is a 3rd party app for this to control the IP connectable Denon devices and this also fails when using internet radio - it returns the error 'the receiver responded incorrectly'.

With regards to the save/load ability - I managed to save configs using both IE & Firefox (when I open them up they appear to have data in them) but am completely unable load these configs back to the device with either browser - in both cases it fails and tells me to attempt again (the display on the AVR remains at 'Loading' even after the failure is reported by the browser) - whether this is the same issue manifesting itself in a different way I'm unsure.

Thanks again,

Ian.

It's pretty interesting that the Denon sponsored app works fine. But no go from the 3rd part app and from online for network control. Have you been in contact with your authorized dealer about support or an exchange? That is if you are with the exchange period!
