I found an 8 1/4" hole saw a couple of months ago and it worked out really well. Today i need a 9 1/2" hole saw. I found a 240mm (very close) at a swedish website but they were closed when i called. I sent them a message. [Link: dls.se]Any idea where i can get one? One like below... not the adjustable "CI" hole saws.

You will take a merry go round ride if you do not have a slip clutch on the drill and it catches something.

Thanks, Amirm. The $235 will save me a few thousand in shoulder surgery down the road :).
I had some fun with the 8.25" a couple of months ago so i know what to expect. Keeping the drill level/plum seem to keep it from binding up.

not the adjustable "CI" hole saws. He's looking for an actual fixed size hole saw, not the adjustable doo-dads.

Mac, That thing from Sweden looks like nothing more than a custom machined plate with an arbor attachment and with a groove with a section of a massive bandsaw blade stuck in it.
I can't see that lasting a long time before it fails in some way.
The thing Amir linked at least looks like a real hole saw that can be sharpened and used long term.

If you don't want to buy online, then HD/Lowes would be a good place to check. I've had a good experience using these keyhole saws, in my own home. You may want to try it out. It's pretty easy to use. May take a whole minute to cut that 9" hole, though. Time is money. This link may help you, Stamp. Howtocutdrywalllikeapro.com

why not just use something like Hole Pro? Since its just drywall, its perfect for us. We even use it to go thru wood and other materials. love the catch all.

I need a 10". We are doing 11 pr of the Niles RWS speakers in 2X6 tongue and groove. No way I am going to try and cut them with a jig saw or sawzall.
I dont feel bad as the electricians have 250-300ish cans to retro
We also have 10 totem acoustic inceilings to cut in
I looked at the ci single blades with the plastic case but not sure if they will cut that deep in T&G

The letters T and G are very close to each other on a keyboard. This recently became all too apparent to me and consequently I will never be ending a work email with the phrase "Regards" again. |
