Hi,
Bit of a noob question I am afraid.
I have a mx700 which I am programming to work with remote lighting as well. I have the main light dimmer switch working OK with a product by Smiths Timegaurd.
However my problem is with remote controlled plug adapters, (ie with lamps attached), also by Smiths Timegaurd. When I try and learn the remote code on the mx700 nothing happens. It's as if it can't see the signal. (the Smiths remote is working OK otherwise).
Anyone got any ideas? I have tried each of the 15 different settings that the remote/plug combo's can be tuned too. Else they go back and I guess I will just have to get up to turn the lamps off. ;-)

There is a Pronto ccf file for one: [Link: remotecentral.com]It uses the F12 IR protocol that in this case is looking for 12 data bits a big off gap (about 54mS) and the 12 data bits repeated only once. For a variety of reasons that could be hard to learn, why not import the ccf file and give it a try.

thanks for that last reply. It transpires I actually have a mx500 without pc connectivity.
reading through some of the articles I wonder if the switching remote system uses a high frequency and can't be learnt. Unless anyone has a solution for me to learn them please.
Otherwise does anyone know of a UK source of remote mains switched that could be learnt with my trusty mx500?
