After completion of one of our jobs the customer asked our company for a set of "as build plans", this is the first time we get this request, does anybody have a guide or a sample on how they look like, please help and thanks in advance.

Walter:

The term "as built" simply means that the customer wants a set of wiring plans that reflect the finished installation. In some instances the "as built" plan might be identical to the original wiring blueprint for the project. In most instances it would be slightly different and would reflect changes that were made during the course of the project (an extra telephone jack here, an extra TV jack there, an extra Cat 5 to the TV jack etc.).

If you are documenting your jobs properly, you should ALWAYS have a set of "as built" plans and the end of every project.

If you want to see examples of good wiring documentation, I would go to www.d-tools.com and download some of their examples.
