I have a client requesting email alerts from his VMAX that is already installed. I'm not on site but am merely trying to ascertain whether this is possible. While reading the manual I see the VMAX is able to send an email alert triggered by a motion alarm. Presumably the manual is referring to camera detect motion as opposed to some type of contact closure from an occupancy sensor or the like?
What I want to do is grid off part of the camera facing the safe for motion detection and any time that field senses motion, the DVR will send client an email alert, and of course begin recording to the hard drive. Does this sound right based on anybody's experience with this DVR? Thanks in advance.

Thanks for checking into that. I called DW support and you can set email alerts per channel based upon motion detect...exactly what we needed. If it was an all or nothing type setup that would be annoying; client would be getting email alerts from all channels all throughout the day.
