ir codes for the 49tx in the front control the main zone

ir codes in the rear port for multiroom. I am almost certain of the mono mini plug. I am however 100% certain only one will work - either mono or stereo. And the sonance or xantech connecting blocks work fine without an interpretor. USe reciever's setup to ir of "Others". Try both a stereo and mono plug. Let me know and Ill check my equipment. I cant find the bulletin

We use the 794 to control all of our Pioneer Elite products (Plasma,DVD,Receivers). I've never tried to use the 'multi-room' features, but that said, we use mono plugs without problems.

Very cool, guys. If I understand correctly, all this conversation is still a bit of a bandaid insomuch as the receiver whigs and needs it's power pulled from time to time. Very difficult for this particular application.

Another question, will I need to run any resistor on the line between the MR-250 and the Xantech?

And honestly... is this all theory, or have one of you flipped the switch without the
mushroom cloud motif?

Last question: Is there discrete power on Z2 to look forward to? If not, would this work:
Initial setup
1) Main power discrete "on"
2) Z2 power toggle (to make a sure "on")
3) Z2 Phono (in affect, a mute for Z2 during Z1 only operation - no record player on this one)

Z2 on
4) Z2 on would simply be selecting a descrete Z2:Tuner, CD, Cable music or PC

Z2 off
5) Z2 off = Z2 Phono

All off
6) System Off shuts both Z1 & 2 off (and defaults to Z1 on only when System On is initiated.

Yes? Once again, thanks

Steve

The Xantech advisory worked very well. Here are a few addendums that make the advisory bulletproof:

e. After selecting "Other" (in the MR setup menu) you must turn off (OFF!) the receiver before unplugging, otherwise it will not reset the MR input on the back of the receiver from "Pioneer" to "Other"
f. Unplug receiver AC for 10 seconds or so and plug back in
g. It Works!

I did not experience any locks ups. Thanks a bunch guys.

As far as discretes, I found all but "Main OFF" and "MR OFF". To turn off the MR, I simply sent the Multiroom the "VCR 1" command to "mute" zone 2. The main "Power Off" at the end of the night turns both off.

By the way, the MR-250 takes the place of the wiring in the "remote room" box area, simply eliminate the +12VDC wire (the MR-250 does not have or need one)
