Hi all,

Has anyone sucessfully integrated a PDA running the Xiva Tacta software with some sort of infra-red control.

I have an application where we have an infra-red sensor located in a second zone and I wish to have the facility of viewing the track info from the Imerge (via WiFi) and sending out infra-red codes to the sensor to control the input selection and volume.

Unfortunately we can't use a television or monitor in this room so the PDA seems like the best solution.

Integration of the IR and Xiva tacta needs to be seemless so the client can easily use it who isn't very computer savy.

Any help greatly appreciated,

Thanks.

Seemless integration is not going to happen. your going to have to run another piece of software to accomplish this.... Here are some CCF Compatable PDA remote programs

Pdawin Tv Remote Control 5.5
Griffin Total Remote
Netremote 0.995rc2 /w direct IR
Vito remote 2.7

If these clients are not "computer savy" Why on earth would you put a PDA in their hands?

Thanks Impaqt,

Do you have any preference of software here

The client has basically asked me if I can provide some sort of device they can walk about with into several rooms and access the music information.

They currently have a Pronto but I don't like the idea of using the Xiva Pronto software to get the music details as since it is only one way you would have to update it everytime the client adds music.

A PDA seems like a better solution as they don't have the budget to go to Crestron / AMX levels.

I dont have much experience with the PDA Pronto programs... You'd probobly have better luck over in the PDA forum on that one... Thats where I found that list of software......

ANyway, yeah, I guess it makes some sense in this situation..... Make sure you use good quality WAP's

And Do some research on the PDA's Most of em have very poor IR output
