Thanks! I am glad to see it is back up. I just went there. I have to scroll left and right to see the entire page. Apparently you site is set up for the best computers, not the ones most widely used.

Please let me know when integrationpros.com will autoscale to 800 x 600 resolution so that I will not have to scroll back and forth to read the pages on my laptop.

Meanwhile, have your webmaster spend some time at www.websitesthatsuck.com for some lessons given with good humor on how to do good web site design by looking at examples of bad web site design.

And everybody else -- visit that site because it will help you see WHY those web sites that irritate you are so irritating!
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

Ernie...

Glad to see you back.

I will look into the autoscale feature.

I am pretty sure you are nicely inferring that IP sucks.

Sorry to hear that.

I'm not sure what your problem is.

I have 800X600, and it looked fine to me! Everything fit on the same page, no scrolling.

I think it LOOKS and performs better than AVSForum...

you mean my AOL? Why would I say that?

boystoys, maybe it is the AOL bruiser's limitation.

I also am not too hot to update my laptop because of the time involved and because I just want to avoid the whole lack of serial port problem. I'm stuck in the past, but at least it's only a few years ago!

Incidentally, these matters of a site looking different on different browsers, and the autoscale (I am not sure it is called that; the text wraps according to how many pixels wide the monitor is) is discussed at websitesthatsuck.com. They think that if you want to reach as many people as possible, you optimize for flexibility, not necessarily for the best (bestest!) possible computer.

Brijaws,
Laugh at me for not getting a different monitor, but
a)I have a hard time getting the damn LCD off the lid of this laptop so I can put on a different one and
b)800 x 600 really is the resolution in widest use. Still.

And I am not at 640 x 480, but at 800 x 600. I even checked. Just to be sure.

Just about every HP Laptop I see sold STILL has a good ol' fashion serial port. Pop down to your local Best Buy and check it out.

Lots of people do still run at 800 x 600 but it "autostretches" perfectly for me at 1280 x 1020. I think the site looks quite nice.

Just minimize AOL and launch Internet explorer in a new window.

I wasnt laughing man, Just took offence and STILL do not know if you were putting down our efforts to provide the isntaller a FREE service.

Either way, sorry for you laptops incompatability to perform.!

Oh, and by the way, out stats show that only 20% of our site hits on using 800x600 res. 1024/768 was 50% with 35% going to 1280x1024

For what it's worth guys, IP displays fine @ 1920x1200. I run a triple monitor setup at the office and havent tried to stretch it across all three monitors but I think it will still be fine.

Ernie,

If you want to upgrade to a new machine with a serial port, you might want to check out these guys www.sagernotebooks.com the NV8890(might be the wrong model number) is a real beast.

I still can't log into the site with my exsisting name/password. Also there seams to be no way to send a message to anyone in cahrge unless you are logged in. See my delema? Maybe I am missing something, or do I need to re-sign up and get a new ID? Could Mcnasty or someone affiliated with the IP site get my info to me? thanks-
Slobob
P> by the way I even tried the "forgot my password" script, but have not received any replay. I have the same e-mail for 5 years, so no change from my end.

Did you go and re-register? They were not able to transfer over the database from the old site.

slobob, Re register. The old database was not brought over to the new site due to some bugs we were having. If you or anyone else ever has an issue, email myself or AVDUDE.
